Application for ADA Generation Bloggers and Signal Boosters with Disabilities
In honor of the ADA30, we are looking for ADA Generation aged youth bloggers, social media influencers and signal boosters with disabilities to join the social media team of ADA30 LEAD ON: Celebration of Disability Arts, Culture, Education & Pride on Thursday, July 23 from 7 - 9:15 pm ET, streamed on Facebook Live and YouTube.
Each member of the social media team will receive a $250 honorarium, will be expected to signal boost social media presence before, during and after the show - plus you get to work with Anita Cameron.
Because of past erasure from history, it is very important to us that during this celebration, voices of ADA Generation bloggers, social media influencers and signal boosters of color from multiply marginalized communities are amplified. We will be prioritizing those applications to make sure that BIPOC voices, contributions, ideas and aspirations are part of this celebration, and of future events.

Kinetic Light Dancers Take Disability Arts to New Heights

The episode features American Sign Language by interpreter Angela Vilavong, who collaborated with interpreter Pilar Marsh. The voice-over appears in the integrated open captions (OC,) which are visible at the bottom of the screen. Audio Description (AD) includes a verbal description of the episode, with narration by Rebecca Singh. The Audio Description can optionally be downloaded as a separate audio file, and a transcript of the Audio Description and voice-over are also available for download to experience alongside the episode.

Since I have not received any proposals for the question of the week, here is something I have been thinking about. The logo that you have seeing popping up is really the tattoo my brother Paul designed and gave me. Now, Paul was an artist by heart, he kept most of his work private. I think it had too much meaning for other people to understand. Also Paul was his own worse critic for example if he see a tat he did, he would say you should come back and let me fix it. Would he be piss that I have made his creation into a shield for the human spirit?

Maybe it is my way of keeping his gift a live, my brother passed away in February from a decease nobody can remember, or pronounce. Paul wanted to give me this tattoo as soon as we got back from the Oscar. It might have been his way of saying you fuck’n did it!

I kept putting it off, because we all knew some laws would need to be fudge to get the job. Let me tell you, those laws did not get fudged enough, because my CP, gimp ass still moved.  I guest Paul is ok with my use of the tattoo, because so far I have had no visits or stuff flying in the air at me.

Calling all disabled photographers — if you’re looking for a way to influence how the public sees disability, there may not be a more powerful amplifier for your photography than a new grant opportunity from Getty Images and Verizon Media. The Disability Stories grant will award a total of $40,000 in funding to five winners to create authentic representations of disability.
