July 14, Application for ADA Generation Bloggers and Signal Boosters with Disabilities
In honor of the ADA30, we are looking for ADA Generation aged youth bloggers, social media influencers and signal boosters with disabilities to join the social media team of ADA30 LEAD ON: Celebration of Disability Arts, Culture, Education & Pride on Thursday, July 23 from 7 - 9:15 pm ET, streamed on Facebook Live and YouTube.
Each member of the social media team will receive a $250 honorarium, will be expected to signal boost social media presence before, during and after the show - plus you get to work with Anita Cameron.
Because of past erasure from history, it is very important to us that during this celebration, voices of ADA Generation bloggers, social media influencers and signal boosters of color from multiply marginalized communities are amplified. We will be prioritizing those applications to make sure that BIPOC voices, contributions, ideas and aspirations are part of this celebration, and of future events.

Oct. 23, Choose Art: A New Online Accessible Arts Directory For Artists With Disabilities
An initiative of Arts Access Victoria (AAV), Choose Art's vision is for the artistic ambitions and achievements of people with disability to be valued and visible in Australian culture.
It will mean art-making opportunities, skill-building, and the discovery of accessible arts and cultural events will all be made easier and more succinct.
Oct. 10, Getty and Verizon Media Offer New Disability Photography Grant
Calling all disabled photographers — if you’re looking for a way to influence how the public sees disability, there may not be a more powerful amplifier for your photography than a new grant opportunity from Getty Images and Verizon Media. The Disability Stories grant will award a total of $40,000 in funding to five winners to create authentic representations of disability.

A live drawing demonstration with me for 2-3 hours in a intimate setting. During this time I will take question from viewers. Before talking is a viewing of the 2001 Super Bowl commercial the feature me at my art work.(1 Min.) Total presentation time 2-3 hours.
This is what took place during a recent visit to an elementary school, before Wifey and I arrived all of the students viewed the commercial. They split the school into two session, that was held in the lunch room. This was done so that everyone could sit in a circle as I worked on a drawing. The students were engaged the whole time and really asked good questions. The best question was, when did I know my disability was an ability? I said my mom always show me that I had the ability to do anything, she always let me try anything at least once. Although, this event was about disability awareness the bigger issue is acceptance of all people no matter what!

Anyone can find their passion and improve the world around them. During my presentation I show King of Arts that is a third film in the series. This focus on me as an artist, (10 Min.) The short documentary King Gimp
follows the life of Dan Keplinger from age 13 until his graduation from
college. This award-winning film documents the struggle of an
individual with cerebral palsy entering the mainstream as well as the
birth of an artist.
King Gimp began when University of Maryland film producers Susan Hadary and William Whiteford began filming for Beginning with Bong,
an educational documentary video on the lives of six children of
different ages and disabilities attending mainstream schools. Among them
was Bong Delrosario, who later starred in the HBO Special Bong & Donnell, and a young spirited "Danny" Keplinger.
The film King Gimp documents Dan's joys and frustrations
including the freedom granted by his first power wheelchair, his
rebellion against using a computer-generated voice, his everyday
strides for independence, and his most life altering discovery--art.

In 2000, King Gimp won the prestigious Oscar Award®
for best short documentary from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts
& Sciences. At the Oscar Awards event, Dan Keplinger was so excited

reporters.
