I have seen Fancon pop up in a number of my feeds on disabilities, but that is not the theme of these event. In my readings, what I can assume this event is more about inclusion and acceptance no matter what and just have fun. If this is the case, these type of event should happen weekly.

TU Art + Design, Art History, & Art Education invite you Dan Keplinger, King Gimp PUBLIC/PRIVATE CONVERSATIONS Twenty years ago, the Oscar Award-winning film, “King Gimp,” leapt Towson University alumnus Dan Keplinger (BS'98 & '03/ MFA ’07), an artist with Cerebral Palsy, into the spotlight. In recognition of the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, TU, in partnership with Towson Town Center, mount an exhibition of his work. Keplinger uses head gear to make his art in various mediums. He does not use voice technology to speak, but by the subject of his daily life and the objects of his daily existence, Keplinger uses his art to send a powerful message.

Through school Dan participated in many Art Department shows. In addition, his work was shown all across Maryland sponsored by Very Special Arts. In 1993 he was the Very Special Arts featured artist in their show at the U.B. Blake Cultural Center in Baltimore City. From 2000 to 2014, Dan is exclusively represented by the Phyllis Kind Gallery in SOHO, New York.
Dan had his first solo show in May of 2000. He has had work in several shows across the country including 2001-2002 eMotion Picture, An Exhibition of Orthopedics in Art. San Francisco, CA Herbst International Exhibition Hall at the San Francisco Presidio, Washington, DC Millennium Arts Center, Chicago, IL Chicago Cultural Center, New York, NY United Nations, United Cerebral Palsy Great Expressions art show 2000 and 2001, Towson and MD Sheppard Pratt Conference Center.

The Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) Low Intensity Support Services (LISS) Program announces FY 2020 "Open Season" for accepting Random Selection Applications.  The LISS Providers are currently accepting Random Selection Applications for ROUND 1.  Applications for Round 1 will be accepted until June 30, 2019.  Any Applications received after June 30th and before November 29, 2019, will be placed in the random selection for Round 2. 

Please note: LISS Random Selection Applicants will be notified by their LISS Provider after the Random Selection Process is completed.

From my experience, polling places are either at public school, or at government building. To me, I would assume that these places are in ADA compliance, but do not forget most of these buildings have been in used before there was the ADA.

Now here is the interesting part, if the new ADA laws are passed. Although these are public school and government buildings, there will be no officials to make sure they meet ADA guidelines. It will be up to People With Disabilities to notify the property owner of the violation. When PWD go vote and cannot get into the building, or booth the bigger crime is that our voices are not being counted.

Under the "new ADA" the property owners has 180 days to bring their facility up to ADA codes, really this would not be acceptable in an election cycle. Why should it be our jobs to tell the government to give PWDs access to the thing that America was founded for, the right to have ever voice count. First you are taking away our rights to accessibility, but more importantly the right to be part of the election process.
