Trump Budget Calls For Cuts To Disability Programs
President Donald Trump is proposing cuts to countless programs benefiting people with disabilities, advocates say, touching everything from Medicaid to employment and autism treatment.
Trump unveiled his $4.8 trillion budget proposal this week for the 2021 fiscal year that starts in October. The president’s budget is unlikely to be rubber-stamped by Congress, but essentially serves as a wish list outlining his priorities.
Trump is seeking reductions to Medicaid, food assistance, state councils on developmental disabilities, university centers on developmental disabilities and protection and advocacy programs, said David Card at the National Disability Rights Network.

Disability is not a static condition, in most cases. Someone may be able to take their child to the park one day, and the next be unable to get out of bed. Conditions are long-lasting, but may also be sporadic in nature, with flares that vary in their length and severity.
A number of government benefits are means tested, meaning the eligibility for that program may be tied to how much money an individual or a family earns. Some programs, like the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) program, provide benefits that are specifically tied, by definition, to an individual's inability to work due to a disability. SSDI is intended to supplement what would be that individual's income.

Hundreds of thousands of people could lose benefits even though their condition has not changed.

Proposed Medicaid Restructuring Will Harm Disability Community

Washington, D.C. – Today, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services announced guidance to states allowing them to pursue drastic changes in how they administer Medicaid to many program recipients, including people with disabilities, family members, direct support professionals, and other allies of people with disabilities. The guidance encourages states to cap their federal funding for the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) Medicaid expansion and weaken federal protections for the low-income adults it covers.

I think databases is just another way to label people and gives a false since of knowledge. In fact, a name does not mean they will get the help they need nor you have the right person. For example, i had to pay my Uncle Danny's library fine since we have the same name.
